JAWS have been at the forefront of a new wave of fresh indie sounds since the beginning of 2012. The year where their demo track 'Cameron' began circulating online, creating quite a buzz amongst the blogs.
Their music is anything but a buzz though, creating soft soundscapes that are pleasant on any ear. The 405 describes their music as "hazy, honest, and atmospheric, with just enough of a pop edge to make it instantly accessible." After this early attention the band opted to, over the next couple of years, hone their sound and release a steady stream of hook-laden and increasingly impressive singles. They are consistently touring across the UK playing sold out shows to ecstatic audiences who you are likely to find singing back the lyrics to JAWS' now familiar favourites. 2014 saw the band release their debut album ‘Be Slowly’ which featured singles including 'Think Too Much, Feel Too Little', ‘Gold’ and the title track ‘Be Slowly’.
The songs displayed are more mature, refined sound bringing together the romantic, wide-eyed swoon of new new-wave, shaggy slacker antics and melodies shaped by timeless guitar pop. At the same time the record contains a healthy blast of much needed sunshine and washed out, rollicking new-wave tinged indie rock, perfect for the festival tents the band have graced over the past couple of summers. This year JAWS will be embarking on yet another UK tour, continuing their industrious attitude by playing as many shows and recording as many songs as they can, undoubtedly to the joy of their burgeoning mass of fans.
